Is Khan Academy A Good Resource for Introducing A New Topic ?

Khan Academy, a free online virtual classroom for students all across the world to access, has sparked as a trend between students for it containing an unbelievable amount of content and practices for revision and exam prep. However, many are questioning its validity when it comes to introducing new topics.

I would like to share that most students who use Khan Academy usually score higher than predicted, meaning that in most areas, it has deemed itself as helpful. In fact, many teachers have reported that actively using khan academy in the classroom has increased the average attention span. Many other teachers have also reported that it is effective when introducing a topic inside the classroom.

However, that does not necessarily prove its effectiveness when introducing a topic outside the classroom, meaning its effectiveness when self-learning.

Khan Academy has been introduced with the fact of its capability of introducing topics and giving additional information and guidance, with provided practices and exercises to students and learners. However, for students who are introducing themselves to a new topic solo, I wouldn’t recommend using khan academy above reinforcing the material and revising it.

With all of that said, Khan Academy is a very helpful platform that every student should start using for the right purposes.
